Finding Coordinates for Your Livestock Premises Address
When premises locations do not have an established address affiliated with them, GPS coordinates can be used to generate a premises ID. Premises IDs cannot be generated without an address or coordinates, and premises IDs must use the location that the livestock are housed.
It is easy to find coordinates when using Google Maps or another online map service. To find your location coordinates for your livestock premises, follow these steps:
1) Find your livestock’s location on Google Maps.
2) Right click on the location.
3) Click on the coordinates to copy them (highlighted in green on the example below).
Use your best judgment when selecting the location on the online map. The coordinates help identify the location of your livestock but we understand that this method isn’t perfect.
