WLIC was founded in 2001 through a partnership with CRI, Cooperative Network and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. WLIC was tasked with developing a state-based model for livestock premises registration and traceability.

WLIC is a private, non-profit organization working to protect animal health and prevent the spread of disease through livestock and premises identification and traceability.

Register Your Premises

Premises registration allows for much faster traces when there is an outbreak of an animal disease or an animal-borne human disease. Registering your premises is mandatory in Wisconsin, but there is no cost associated.

Our Mission

Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) is a private non-profit organization working to protect animal health and prevent the spread of disease through livestock and premises identification and traceability.

Host and maintain the state premises ID database.
Provide the 'insurance' to protect the food supply chain and all livestock raised in Wisconsin.
Promote the 'Wisconsin-Origin' livestock label.
Share vital information in the case of disease outbreak.
