Equity, DATCP Cooperating to Test New Technology

Nephi Harvey of Fort Supply Technologies spoke at the NIAA “Farm to Table” Conference about the tests they are conducting in cooperation with WLIC member Equity Livestock and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection at Equity’s Monroe facility. Fort Supply is one of several companies working with UHF identification tags including Wisconsin based and WLIC member IDology. Referring to Equity, Harvey said, “Equity utilizes the best cattle management practices I’ve seen.” UHF tags provide some advantages to the widely used low frequency tags, but come with their own complications. WLIC will be closely following this new technology.
