Tips
Having trouble with your address in the Premises Registration System?
The address must be a valid postal or 911 address before issuing a premises ID, therefore our system validates the addresses. In most cases a match will be found, however in some cases it cannot find a match. We have found that in the case a match is not found, it is mainly due to not spelling out the address in a way that is listed in a national postal database. Therefore, please don't abbreviate, spell out the street and this validation process goes a lot smoother. For example write out the words like the following:
- US Highway
- State Road
- State Highway
- County Road
- County Highway
Also, if it has a directional code (W, N, E, S) in front of the fire numbers (example: W1234), please add these in front of your fire number
If you live on a County Highway and you do not seem to get a match, try entering County Road and see if you get a match. The same applies to State Highway, if you do not get a match try State Road.
I tried everything but it will not validate, now what?
Occasionally, an address will not go through the system. Please click the address conflict button and add some basic directions from the closest intersection to your premises.
Example: From the intersection of State Highway 111 and County Road AA go 4 miles west on County Road AA. Turn south (left) on Rose Lane and go 2 miles. We are the third farm on the west side of the road.
